High-Energy experimentalist interested in exotic detector signatures, future collider development, and the future of computation for high-energy physics

Aidan Gardner-O'Kearny

I'm a PhD student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Tennessee, as a part of their CMS group, I am working on the MAIA detector concept for a 10 TeV Muon Collider, attempting to understand how we reconstruct photons and how we can improve that process.

MAIA & the Muon Collider

I'm currently working as a part of the MAIA group to understand how best to reconstruct photons using the PandoraPFA software package and what steps we can take to optimize the process.

Exotic Detector Signatures

My main physics interests at CMS relate to physics processes that produce exotic detector signatures; events that cannot be searched for using conventional analysis techniques.

High-Energy Computation

I'm interested in the future of computation in high-energy physics. JULIA presents a promising language for computational work; offering the speed of C++ with the ease of use of Python.
